Today there was sunshine and showers and probably rainbows somewhere as a result. This seemed most appropriate as I was on a personal mission to make enough crocheted rainbow hearts to make a little garland. The granny square rainbow heart pattern https://youtu.be/PQgiaWEkjN8 caused me a lot of issues at first. I have recently taken up crochet again in the last few years. I did quite a lot of it in my early 20’s, but had picked up bad habits which I didn’t realise until Mum taught me the right way to hold the hook and yarn, which makes it a lot easier. I invested in some state of the art Prym ergonomic crochet hooks which is also easier as they are not metal and I find them much nicer to use. It took me most of a day this week to learn how to do the red heart. I kept pulling it back but kept on going, persevered and finally got it. Once you do one you can’t really stop and one of my Facebook friends Eunice inspired me as she is so neat and clever at crochet and had done some rainbow hearts. I included a heart with some of the facemask adaptors that I dropped off for local carers yesterday and Chloe thought it was a nice touch, so I will include one with each pack from now on.

The colours of the rainbow are so lively and seem to have some to be symbolic of the goodness from all of this madness and really make me smile.
Chloe the local carer said she would keep the red heart I gave her to remind her of kindness through this pandemic, which made me think that every cloud has a silver lining and a rainbow or two…
